How to Make Compost 101 || Black Gumbo

In this longer episode (22 minutes), I’ll show you how to compost. But put away your rule books because I break the rules and don’t follow the convention. While others will insist you are do it wrong if the nitrogen-to-carbon ratio is off, or if you compost hot dogs and chicken scraps, we buck the system here. The proof is in our rich compost. Composting is easy with a few simple principles.

This video is for beginners and seasoned old veterans of gardening. Learn how to make the finest and best fertilizer and soil amendment from things you already have, even the things the books tell you are bad for the compost bin. I cover all the basics, from containers, to heat and aeration, to what to put in your compost, and how to use it as an amendment, side dressing and compost tea.

Compost is the best fertilizer for increased flavor, bigger crops, healthier soil, and it is cheap. Saving money is a great thing, right? Recycle the stuff you already have and turn it into gardening gold!
