Family of Belfast stabbing victim call for calm - Watch ITV Evening News LIVE

The family of the Belfast attack victim insists "Peaceful protest is the only way forward".

It's after parts of the city were engulfed in flames, last night, as anti-migrant protests erupted. Houses believed to be occupied by foreigners bore the brunt of the violence with families fleeing for their lives.

Sudanese national Hadi Alodid appeared in court, today, charged with attempted murder. His alleged victim - Stephen Ogilvy - seriously injured in the knife attack - is now recovering in hospital.
