Serge Gainsbourg Requiem Pour Un Con French & English Subtitles

Techno before there was techno, a song Gainsbourg composed in 1968 for a gangster film with famous actor Jean Gabin. The first clip of this video is Serge's performance in the film, the second clip has the original studio recording, 1968. The film was Le Pacha, the song is a song of revenge by a police inspector whose colleague was murdered. The insistent beats and plucking of guitar strings sound more like bullets than the funeral organs of a requiem, but they are meant to threaten and intimidate thIs "con" , a rude French word, which I have translated with its English equivalent, "asshole." "About the organs, this morning I have had the idea that it could also be an allusion to the "Stalin's organs" - synonym of fire turmoil / barrage of fire - well... briefly an image of how the guy (the asshole) will be killed, by shot.

These Stalin's organs makes a terrible sound of death and massacre - and fear."
It makes sense with the music itself, which sounds like shots.
