RCMP MUSICAL RIDE CANADA 150 Vancouver Burnaby 2017

RCMP Musical Ride 2017 - CANADA 150 Swangard Stadium & Vancouver PNE August, 2017. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police performed it's world famous RCMP Musical Ride on Aug 18, 2017 at the Swangard Stadium in Burnaby and in Vancouver PNE Pacific National Exhibition on August 19th and 20th. It was to celebrate Canada 150 (Canada's 150th birthday or the anniversary of the Canadian Confederacy).

The RCMP Musical Ride featuring the Royal Canadian Mounted Police mounted on horseback (a troop of 32 horses and riders) and galloping in style at Swangard Stadium in Burnaby BC on August 18, 2017. The mounted police perform choreographed cavalry drills to music to help celebrate Canada 150, Canada’s 150th anniversary of Canadian Confederation and Burnaby’s 125th birthday (Burnaby 125).

The RCMP Musical Ride is one of the most iconic and recognized symbols of the country. From the famous “Dome” formation, which was once featured on the back of the Canadian fifty-dollar bill, to the exciting “Charge” movement, where lances are lowered and the riders and their mounts launch into a gallop, the RCMP Musical Ride continues to be a much loved event across Canada. The evening also has a variety of entertainment that includes performers, activities and displays for the whole family. The Musical Ride was developed in 1876 by early members of the North West Mounted Police to display their riding ability and to entertain the local community. The singing of the national anthem O Canada warps up the show. Members of the Musical Ride are first and foremost police officers. They all have at least two years experience in active police work before volunteering for duty with the Musical Ride. Surprisingly, most have no prior riding experience.

We are proud to present the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Musical Ride during their 2017 Canada 150th celebration tour during The Fair! A Canadian tradition since 1876, a troop of 32 scarlet coated “Mounties” on majestic black horses will present a 30 minute show of intricate figures and cavalry drills choreographed to music.
