AUSTRALIAN TALKIES NEWSREEL - sound on disc - c. 1928

Early Australian Sound Newsreel - "Australian Talkies Newsreel" circa 1928. Sound was recorded on DISC - which is unfortunately lost.
Historic note: The third segment of this newsreel (Australian Made Car) is in fact a Chamberlain 8 made in Melbourne by two brothers around 1927-28. It is, without doubt an astonishing car, a monument to the enthusiasm, dedication and sheer mechanical ingenuity of a small group of enthusiasts ‘because it seemed like a good idea at the time’. The car still exists, and today it is priceless - a highly significant piece of Australian history.
