NaNoWriMo is officially upon us, so today we’re covering what to do if you’re an underwriter. Underwriters are writers who tell their stories in bare bones, and often those stories feel undeveloped and lack punch. If that’s you, fear not! I’m sharing my top 10 tips for lengthening your novel. Remember, when it comes to finding ways to make your novel longer, it isn’t just about increasing your word count. The goal is to add meaningful content and genuinely improve your story. In this video, I’m talking about the importance of “show, don't tell,” the basic story structure all writers should know, why you should create character profiles, and more! Points #3 and #7 are my favorite, and I think they make a big difference when it comes to beefing up your novel.
