In this video, I’ll break down agent harness and harness engineering in a simple and practical way for developers. If you’re curious about how modern AI agents are built, why coding agents behave differently, and what actually sits around the LLM, this video is for you.

At a simple level: AI Agent = Model + Harness. The model provides the intelligence, but the harness gives it the environment to actually get work done. We’ll look at how a harness helps an AI agent use tools, manage context, maintain state, use memory, follow permissions, run execution loops, and provide observability.

We’ll also understand the difference between an agent framework and an agent harness, and why frameworks like LangGraph, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, and AutoGen are only one part of the larger agent-building picture.
