Sydney Male Choir Virtual Concert 2020

The Sydney Male Choir was established over 108 years ago and during those years has faced many challenges. Somehow, the Choir has always managed to find a way through and when the Covid-19 pandemic struck in 2020 we were determined to ensure that we would continue to fulfil our mission to ‘Bring Joy Through Song’. The live entertainment sector was immediately shut down in March 2020 and we moved to online rehearsals.

During several months of restrictions and lockdowns we managed to logon for our regular rehearsals from our homes but these were less than ideal conditions. We needed a purpose or a goal and the idea of a Virtual Concert was born. This project involved much planning and wonderful contributions from audio/video professionals and we are grateful to the Musical Director, Keiren Brandt-Sawdy, and our Accompanist, Dewi Liu, for bringing this performance to fruition.
