Device - Who Says (Obscure (?) AOR Guitar Cover)

I was randomly letting YouTube play song after song one night and this one came on. I thought it was pretty cool and then I heard what I think is my favourite pre chorus ever. I'll never forget how goosebump inducing it was when I first heard it. It's a pretty killer track! You may also recognise vocalist Paul Engemann as the voice of 'Push It to the Limit' from the Scarface soundtrack. Also, songwriter, backing vocalist and instrumentalist extraordinaire Holly Knight wrote songs for Tina Turner amongst many others.

This is actually transposed down half a step to make it in standard tuning. The guitar part features some harmonics and so the only way to be able to play them was to either transpose the song down or tune my guitar up. I don't like different tunings anyway but I'd never want to tune up. The only player I've heard who tuned up was Johnny Marr of The Smiths and apparently he used to break a lot of strings. Anyway, if you're familiar with this song, then that's why it's lower pitched than what you are used to.

I use a Jackson DK2 Dinky from 2004, into a Boss ME50, into a Palmer Pdi-09, into a Focusrite Scarlet, into my Mac running Logic Pro X.
