Abandoned San Antonio Speedway

A tour of the abandoned San Antonio Speedway along with some old clips of when this race track was in operation. San Antonio speedway opened in 1977 and was known for its 1/2 mile, high banked, oval shaped race track. The speedway closed in 2007 due to code violations but reopened in October 2012 for an event called Octoberfast. It looked like it was going to be the rebirth of the San Antonio Speedway but it ended up having its last race in 2013 due to the cost of upkeep and the lack of attendees.
