Miralax Colonoscopy Prep
Miralax colonoscopy prep made easy in this instructional video brought to you by Granite Peaks Gastroenterology.
The first step is purchasing the prep supplies. These supplies include:
1. One box of Dulcolax laxative tablets
2. 238 gram bottle of Miralax
3. 64 oz bottle of Gatorade (no red or purple)
On the day before your colonoscopy, stop all food and dairy products until after the procedure.
Drink plenty of clear liquids - the more you drink, the better your prep works. Just be sure to avoid any blue or red liquids. Plan to drink 64 ounces of clear liquids throughout the day and evening.
At 4:00 PM take four of the Dulcolax tablets (you'll want to remain close to a bathroom).
At 5:30 PM mix the Miralax and Gatorade together. Drink half of the solution over the next two hours. Shake or stir the solution each time you drink in order to get even doses.
Four hours before your arrival time, drink the remainder of the Miralax/Gatorade solution over the next two hours.
Two hours before your arrival time, take any regularly prescribed medications except diabetic medications. If you are diabetic do not take your insulin or oral diabetic medication the morning of the procedure. Instead, bring your morning blood sugar reading to your appointment. If you use an inhaler, please also bring that to your appointment.
Don't drink or ingest anything for the next two hours before your arrival time. This includes water, ice gum, etc.
That's it! Now you can relax. Please be sure to arrive on time and we'll take it from there.
