2014 Hyundai Equus Signature vs Ultimate Test Drive & Luxury Car Video Review
The 2014 Hyundai Equus is an exceptional value for the dollar. Although Hyundai is not a prestige brand like Mercedes or BMW; instead it's a value brand. The Equus comes as 2 different trim levels: the Signature starts at $61k while the Ultimate goes for $68k. This full-sized luxury sedan offers a marvelous level of comfort at a discount price when compared to the competition.

This review takes on both the Signature and Ultimate Equus models and shows some differences between the two. The Equus presents a unique value proposition among full-sized luxury sedans. Hyundai has a concierge service that will bring an Equus Luxury Car to your front door for a test drive. That same service will also pick up your car when the maintenance is due.
The 2014 Hyundai Equus is powered by a 5.0 liter V-8 gasoline direct injection engine that makes 429 horsepower and 376 lb-ft. of torque. The transmission is an 8-speed automatic. Fuel economy figures are not that great since this is a big heavy car with a large displacement V-8. The numbers are 15 MPG in the city and 23 MPG on the highway.
The Equus is an executive transport that is as nice to drive and it is to be driven around. The rear-view backup camera and multi-view cameras are fantastic. On the inside the 2014 Equus puts everything at the driver and passenger's control. The ride and handling is as smooth as you could possibly want it to be. The big question is "does the Equus really compete with Lexus, Mercedes, BMW, or Audi?" Well the Equus is a whole lot less expensive.
Driving the 2014 Hyundai Equus is a pleasure. This luxury sedan is fact, comfortable, and packed with technology. While the Equus may be Hyundai's flagship sedan, they are content to keep sales here in the U.S. relatively low which adds to the exclusivity of this luxury car.
