Taung Gyi is one of the famous places to visit in Myanmar where Shan State's Traditions and beautiful sceneries can be discovered and it is located in the upper North East side of the country.

Since it is a few thousand feets above sea level, there has a cold and chilly weather which is different from our lower tropical region.

Kalaw is also a city from Shan State where pine trees are grown. I love the weather, foods, scenery, neighborhood and all about that place. You can have a peaceful vacation in such those beatifuls woods and mountains.

As for our story about travelling there was that my two sisters who live in Singapore always used to come back once a year before any us know about COVID.

We formerly planned to go to Ngapali Beach, which is one of the most beautiful beaches in Myanmar. We had to cancel our trip there due to COVID news.

But we couldn't waste our time together as a family reunion and went to Taung Gyi which is my brother-in-law home town. And we headed for Kalaw afterwards.

Since we did not planned for this trip, our travel is not completely in order and we did not go to every famous places. You can assume this is purely a family trip.

If you want some excitment, some adventures such as trekking, motor-biking, and campping around the mountains are other options for you.
