Propane conversion on twin cylinder engine.

Briggs and Stratton 26 HP ELS series (Inteck) Propane conversion of carburetor via spud in method. This carburetor modification is not typical due to the two chambers of the carburetor and the need to ensure equal fuel is delivered to each cylinder. The gasoline bowl and gasoline parts are still intact and fully functional. I drilled and tapped threads directly into the throat of the carburator bores to deliver propane via a Beam T60 regulator. The spuds are made from 6mm stainless tubing used for CNG/LPG auto conversion kits but aluminum will also work. I threaded the tubing and screwed it into the holes in the top of the carburetor. I also cut a slash (approximately 45*) on the spud and these face the intake side of the engine. As the air rushes past these spuds, it crates a vacuum on the spuds and will suck in the propane from the regulator. In between the regulator and the spuds, I have mounted a brass T and a brass needle valve to control the flow of propane. I also had to bend the spuds to face forward in order to clear the air box that mounts above the carburetor. This propane converted engine is powering a belt driven hydraulic pump from a forklift that I use to power my hydraulic jackhammer.
