Episode 2 of the BBC 1991 series, subtitled 'Colliding continents and the Age of Bronze'. This programme explores the creation of the Alps and the discovery of bronze as well as examining the emergence on Crete of a civilisation that grew peacefully from wealth generated by agriculture and trade and explores the theory that a volcanic eruption destroyed the Minoan civilisation.
