A group of children fishing in Adelaide's western suburbs became the target of a shocking clash with a group of adults on Sunday.

The interaction, caught on camera, captured residents in West Lakes swearing at the children and throwing their equipment, claiming fishing was banned in the area.

Commenters on the now-viral video have since condemned the actions of the adults.
