This rare childrens LP from 1973 took a much loved cartoon series and made quite a dog's dinner of it. Conceived as an audio story with musical interludes the poorly executed result featured a weak story/script, bad (non-original) voice acting, too few/too unconvincing sound effects, very shoddy/uneven sound recording, easy listening music and a Scooby who could hold a conversation in full, coherent sentences !? Arggg!!! However .... though the musical interludes might be wasted on children of any era I've now rediscovered them and find them to be quite interesting examples of the period and style and actually not bad at all; a couple I even like ... and I do love the cover picture with that big, daft dog and his equally daft friends. http://mystery-vinyl.ebid.net
