3-Month Long Term Review: Merida eOne-Sixty 675 — Best Value eMTB of 2025?

🚵 3-Month Review: Is This Still the BEST Value EMTB of 2025? | Merida E-160 675 Long-Term Test
After three months of riding through everything the Lake District can throw at it — steep climbs, muddy trails, and rocky descents — it’s time to see if the Merida E-160 675 still holds its crown as the best value e-MTB of 2025.

Supplied and supported by the fantastic team at 4Play Cycles, Cockermouth, this enduro e-MTB has taken a proper beating, and it’s time for my honest long-term verdict.

💬 3-Month Impressions & Honest Feedback:
After plenty of saddle time, I’ve made a few key changes that completely transformed the ride. The original seat was really uncomfortable, so I swapped it for a proper e-MTB saddle. The stock dropper post was heavy and not the best built, and I couldn’t tighten the seat clamp without it affecting performance — so I upgraded to a RockShox Reverb, which has been flawless.
I also added RevGrips suspension grips for better vibration damping and comfort, plus Schwalbe radial tyres for improved grip and rolling performance on mixed terrain.
The Shimano EP801 motor has been brilliant — plenty of power for the steepest climbs, smooth delivery, and loads of tuning options through the Shimano E-Tube app to fine-tune support and responsiveness. It’s been totally reliable so far, with no power drop or thermal issues, even on long mountain days.
Apart from those minor tweaks, the bike remains incredible — planted, confident, and inspiring to ride. The LinkGlide drivetrain is easy and affordable to maintain, and the Marzocchi Bomber Air shock is simple to set up yet performs beautifully across all conditions.
