LIVE: Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan Asks Supporters to Hold Nationwide Protests

Pakistan's former Prime Minister Imran Khan has called on his supporters to prepare for nationwide protests and announced plans to challenge his conviction in the Islamabad High Court after he and his wife, Bushra Bibi, were sentenced to 17 years in prison in the Toshakhana-II corruption case on Saturday. With no access to his social media accounts, Khan relayed his message through his legal team, confirming that an appeal has already been filed. His party, PTI, condemned the verdict as unconstitutional and politically motivated, accusing authorities of seeking to prolong his detention. Khan has been in custody since August 2023.
