A New Beginning After Years of Struggle 

When Jyoti Bhagwat was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2014, she knew life would never be the same. Over the years, the condition slowly progressed, affecting her movements and independence. In 2020, doctors recommended Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS), an advanced surgical treatment for Parkinson’s Disease. Unsure about undergoing brain surgery, she decided to wait. 

As the years passed, her symptoms worsened. By 2024 and 2025, severe tremors, rigidity, and painful dystonia had made even simple daily activities difficult. Tasks that many take for granted became constant challenges. 

Finally, in February 2026, Jyoti decided to undergo DBS surgery. 

The change was remarkable. 

According to her husband, Shashikant Bhagwat, the improvement was visible almost immediately after the procedure. The tremors reduced significantly, her movements became smoother, and the pain that had affected her daily life eased considerably. 

Today, Jyoti is independent and confident. She manages her daily activities on her own, participates actively in community forums, and even dances again—something that once seemed impossible. 

Having experienced the life-changing impact of DBS firsthand, she now hopes to spread awareness about Parkinson’s Disease and encourage others to seek timely treatment. 

For Jyoti and her family, DBS did not just improve symptoms—it gave them their life back.
