e-RUPI डिजिटल भुगतान प्लेटफॉर्म है, जिसे पूरी तरह से कैशलेस व कॉन्टेक्टलेस यानी संपर्करहित बनाया गया है। यह डिजिटल प्लेटफॉर्म सुनिश्चित करेगा कि लेनदेन पूरा होने के बाद ही सेवा प्रदाता को भुगतान किया जाए। आइए जानते हैं ई-रुपी क्या है, यह काम कैसे करेगा और इसका इस्तेमाल कहां हो सकता है।
क्या है ई-रुपी?
ई-रुपी को भारतीय राष्ट्रीय भुगतान निगम (NPCI) ने अपने यूपीआई प्लेटफॉर्म पर वित्तीय सेवा विभाग, स्वास्थ्य और परिवार कल्याण मंत्रालय और राष्ट्रीय स्वास्थ्य प्राधिकरण के सहयोग से विकसित किया हैं। यह डिजिटल भुगतान के लिए पूरी तरह से एक कैशलेस और कॉन्टैक्टलेस साधन है। 
क्या हैं ई-रुपी ke फायदे?
व्यवस्था के उपयोगकर्ता अपने सेवा प्रदाता के केंद्र पर कार्ड, डिजिटल भुगतान एप या इंटरनेट बैंकिंग एक्सेस के बिना ही वाउचर की राशि को प्राप्त करने में सक्षम होंगे।
ई-रुपी बिना किसी फिजिकल इंटरफेस के डिजिटल तरीके से लाभार्थियों और सेवा प्रदाताओं के साथ सेवाओं के प्रायोजकों को जोड़ता है। 
इसके तहत यह भी सुनिश्चित किया जाता है कि लेनदेन पूरा होने के बाद ही सेवा प्रदाता को भुगतान किया जाए।
प्री-पेड होने की वजह से सेवा प्रदाता को किसी मध्यस्थ के हस्तक्षेप के बिना ही सही समय पर भुगतान संभव हो जाता है।
यह डिजिटल पेमेंट सॉल्यूशन कल्याणकारी सेवाओं की भ्रष्टाचार-मुक्त आपूर्ति सुनिश्चित करने की दिशा में एक क्रांतिकारी पहल हो सकता है। 
कहां हो सकता है ई-रुपी का इस्तेमाल?
इसका उपयोग मातृ और बाल कल्याण योजनाओं के तहत दवाएं और पोषण संबंधी सहायता, टीबी उन्मूलन कार्यक्रमों, आयुष्मान भारत प्रधानमंत्री जन आरोग्य योजना जैसी स्कीमों के तहत दवाएं और निदान, उर्वरक सब्सिडी, इत्यादि देने की योजनाओं के तहत सेवाएं उपलब्ध कराने में किया जा सकता है। 
यहां तक कि निजी क्षेत्र भी अपने कर्मचारी कल्याण और कॉर्पोरेट सामाजिक दायित्व कार्यक्रमों के तहत इन डिजिटल वाउचर का उपयोग कर सकता है।  
कैसे करता है काम?
e-RUPI एक प्रीपेड ई-वाउचर है। यह क्यूआर कोड या एसएमएस स्ट्रिंग के आधार पर ई-वाउचर के रूप में काम करता है, जिसे लाभार्थियों के मोबाइल फोन पर पहुंचाया जाता है। यह प्लेटफॉर्म उपयोगकर्ताओं को कार्ड, डिजिटल भुगतान एप या इंटरनेट बैंकिंग एक्सेस के बिना वाउचर को भुनाने की अनुमति देगा। ई-रुपी, सेवाओं के स्पॉन्सर्स को बिना किसी फिजिकल इंटरफेस के डिजिटल तरीके से लाभार्थियों और सेवा प्रदाताओं से जोड़ता है।

The person and purpose-specific payment system will function in the form of an SMS string or QR based code, which will be sent straight to the beneficiary’s phone and will be redeemable at designated centers without the need for any credit/debit card, mobile banking applications, or more, thus eliminating any physical interface. Essentially, it will work like a pre-loaded, prepaid voucher that can be encashed without the intermediate need for debit cards, internet banking, and more, thereby seamlessly connecting beneficiaries and sponsors. Also, taking payment security a step ahead, the system ensures that the service provider payment is only made after completing the transaction.
“Being pre-paid in nature, it assures timely payment to the service provider without the involvement of any intermediary,” said the official PMO statement.
Development, the immediate use case of the new system could be well-placed in delivering timely and leak-proof transfers under schemes that cover mother and child welfare, fertilizer subsidies, drugs and diagnostics, tuberculosis eradication, nutritional support and more. Moreover, even the private sector can leverage this system for their employee benefit and corporate-social welfare programs.

How does it work?

Under the umbrella entity of NPCI’s UPI platform, both private and public sector banks will be onboarded as issuing entities. Once that is done, these entities will be approached by various government agencies with specific beneficiary details, the payment purpose, and other information. Once the beneficiary has been identified using their mobile number, a voucher will be specifically generated and delivered to the said person for redemption.
