🔥 Kerala Style Spicy Jhinga Masala 🍤
Quick and flavorful South Indian dish full of spices! Serve with naan, roti, or rice.
Ingredients
200g Jhinga (cleaned)
4 Medium Piyaaz (chopped)
4 Medium Tamatar (chopped)
Half Lemon
Curry Patta
Hari Mirch
Fresh Hari Dhaniya (for garnish)
2 Tbsp Adrak-Lehsun Paste
Dry Masalas: Namak, 1 Tsp Haldi, Laal Mirch, 1 Tbsp Dhaniya Powder
Khade Garam Masala:
1 Tbsp Akkha Dhaniya, 1/2 Tbsp Kali Mirch, 1 Tbsp Jeera, Sukhi Laal Mirch, Thoda Saunf
Powder Prep: Roast khade masale, grind into coarse powder.
Steps
1. Marinate Jhinga: Mix jhinga with dry masalas, adrak-lehsun paste, and lemon juice. Rest for 10 mins.
2. Prepare Base: Heat oil in a kadai, sauté piyaaz till golden. Add adrak-lehsun paste, curry patta, and hari mirch. Add tamatar and cook till soft.
3. Cook Jhinga: Add marinated jhinga, cover, and cook for 5-10 mins.
4. Finish: Add ground garam masala and fresh dhaniya. Cover and cook for 10 more mins.
5. Serve: Pair with naan, roti, or rice.
