I wanted to preserve this piece and have all the wood on this Lee Enfield rifle, unfortunately I did not have the rear half of this hand guard. I could have purchased a replacement, but there was no guaranty it would match the walnut original to this historic piece. As a result I opted for creating a hand crafted repair. This is one of my first attempts at a project like this.

This is not my usual content as much of my content is focused on restoration and using reclaimed materials to create a wide range of DIY projects. Comment your thoughts on this subject mater. Would you like more of this type of content featuring historic pieces?
