Big Elephant Tusker - N’wendlamuhari (Himalaya)

One of our staff members caught up with the Kruger tusker, N’wendlamuhari (Himalaya), in March while on a trip to the Kruger National Park. 😍

He is known as N’wendlamuhari in KNP, meaning ‘the river that is fierce when in flood’ in Shangaan. He was named after the Sand River and his preferred location to a spruit which is known for its dramatic flooding.

This incredible bull emits a peaceful yet powerful presence. What a sight to behold, seeing this magnificent tusker at such close quarters. Enjoy this video taken of him having a bath on a warm summer morning before he disappears into the vast landscape.
