Responding to an RFE without a Lawyer?
Should I respond to a request for evidence on my own? The answer to this question is most likely no. If you've filed on your own and you receive a request for evidence and it is very simple you may be able to do it on your own (usually one document). If it is any more complicated than that you should seriously consult a lawyer. This is one of the situations where a lawyer can make or break your case, especially in this later, critical stage. We've seen couples mess up their RFE and had their case denied over small details that could have been avoided with a more experienced eye.
