The seventh installment in the 30-year-old Scream franchise features Neve Campbell returning as longtime final girl Sidney Prescott alongside an ensemble cast that includes Isabel May, Joel McHale, Anna Camp, Jimmy Tatro, Michelle Randolph, Mckenna Grace, Asa Germann, Sam Rechner, Celeste O'Connor, and returning stars Courteney Cox, Matthew Lillard as Stu Macher, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, David Arquette, Scott Foley and Laurie Metcalf.

Original screenwriter Kevin Williamson returned to the franchise to direct 2026's Scream 7, which is now on digital.

Per Deadline, the Scream 7 reaction is projected to end its fifth weekend in theaters by hitting a cumulative global box office total of $204 million. That total comprises $118.6 million from domestic theaters and an additional $85.4 million from international markets. This makes it the first Scream movie to ever hit the $200 million milestone worldwide, not adjusted for inflation.

Scream 8 has been officially announced by Paramount Pictures thanks to 7's box office success and has the potential to be an even bigger horror movie hit.

Without Kevin Williamson, Scream 5-7 was well on its way to becoming a different trilogy (which, according to Skeet Ulrich, would’ve seen Scream 6 star Melissa Barrera (Sam Carpenter) become Ghostface in the end). However, thanks to the drama of Spyglass firing Barrera and Jenna Ortega (Tara Carpenter) leaving, that changed.

The Scream 7 DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K release date is on June 16. All versions come with 40 minutes of bonus content, including behind the scenes, Scream 7 deleted scenes and a music video for Twisting the Knife by Ice Nine Kills and Mckenna Grace.
