French architecture is known all around the world. Any time you turn on a French movie or documentary, you’ll quickly notice one thing in the B-roll: there are old buildings everywhere! Have you ever wondered why?
Of course, France has a long and interesting history, and many of our buildings have been preserved for those reasons. But in general, we have a habit of not tearing down old buildings — even if they’re “in the way” of a new development.
In this lesson, which is entirely in French, I’ll explain why and how we preserve buildings in France. This way, you can learn more about an interesting part of French culture while improving your oral comprehension at the same time.
Take care and stay safe.
😘 from Grenoble, France.
