This EP marks Johnny Deep's first step into the Minimal House Genre. Of Course, much of what he releases is quite minimalistic but this is his first release that adds the swing shuffle percussion that has become synonymous with Minimal House. Johnny always writes from the soul and this dedication always gives birth to interesting fusions. Lake Skatin is quite innovative in that it blends deep house, minimal, deep tech and progressive elements into the one stomping groove. Johnny holds back on excessive swing percussion which ensures less cymbal fatigue that can be common in the minimal genre. The Original allows the melodies to take centre stage whereas The Rework leans slightly more towards minimal deep house with the signature main melody to appear in the breakdown. For Vinyl Lovers only, Johnny gifts a bonus track that is most certainly a bonus! Again, Johnny fuses the genres and even ventures to add an enticing vocal hook to complete this wonderful track.
