The Secret to a Peaceful Home: Christian Homemaking Tips
🌸 Join me for a day in the life of a Christian homemaker, where I'll share my top christian Homemaking tips to live a slow, peaceful life with a large family.

Lemon bars
For the crust:
▢12 tablespoons unsalted butter , frozen and cut in small pieces
▢6 tablespoons sugar
▢1 1/2 cups fresh milled spelt (other flour will work)
For the filling:
▢1 1/2 cups sugar
▢1/4 cup fresh milled spelt
▢4 large eggs
▢3/4 cup lemon juice
▢1 tablespoon lemon zest
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line baking pan both ways with parchment paper with overhang.
Add the butter, sugar and flour to a food processor or blender and let process for 20-30 seconds or until the dough comes together into a ball then press into an 8x8 inch pan and bake for 22-25 minutes.
Combine the 1 ½ cups sugar, ¼ cup flour, 4 eggs, lemon juice and zest in a large bowl and whisk well and let sit for 15 minutes while crust bakes, whisk just before pouring onto crust and then bake the crust with the filling for 30-35 minutes.
Kale, sausage, potato soup:
2 pounds of breakfast sausage
1 onion diced
2 garlic cloves
8 TBSP butter
4-5 medium potatoes
1bunch of kale (depending how much you want)
62 oz of chicken stock (2 boxes)
1 cup of milk, half & half or heavy cream
sauté onions in butter, add garlic, then add sausage then and cook thoroughly. add chicken stock and potatoes and bring to a boil until potatoes are cooked once cooked turn down heat and add milk while stirring, add kale.. let shimmer until kale welts, salt and pepper to taste.
