Project Title: Design and Performance Analysis of a Micro Turbojet Engine
As part of my final-year undergraduate project, I undertook the design and performance analysis of a micro turbojet engine to strengthen my foundational understanding of aircraft propulsion systems. The project involved an integrated approach combining thermodynamic cycle modeling and CFD-based component analysis. I independently developed a MATLAB code to simulate the Brayton cycle and estimate key performance metrics such as thrust, thermal efficiency, and TSFC under varying operating conditions.

To capture real-world flow behavior, I created 3D CAD models of key engine components—including the compressor, combustor, turbine, and nozzle—and conducted simulations using ANSYS Fluent. Particular focus was given to combustor flow and nozzle expansion characteristics to understand the effects of turbulence and pressure gradients on thrust production.

This project allowed me to bridge theoretical principles with practical tools used in the propulsion industry. It deepened my interest in gas turbine performance optimization, and motivated me to pursue graduate studies in propulsion and high-speed internal flows. The skills I developed in thermodynamic analysis, CFD, and engineering design continue to shape my academic and research goals.
