Jeff Bezos On Trump: ‘He’s Been Right About A Lot Of Things’

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos praised President Trump’s conduct and policies during the second term as a "more mature, disciplined version of himself than he was during his first term" during an @cnbc interview on Wednesday.

"Trump has lots of good ideas,” Bezos said during an interview with CNBC journalist Andrew Ross Sorkin. “He’s been right about a lot of things. You have to give him credit where credit is due.”

Critics have accused Bezos of attempting to ingratiate himself into the Trump administration for business reasons. He attended Trump's second inauguration in January last year, and Amazon paid $40 million for a documentary about the first lady, Melania Trump.

Critics have also accused Bezos of shifting the editorial direction of the @washingtonpost to the right in the last 18 months. Bezos bought the newspaper in 2013. 'The Post' lost over 200,000 subscribers in 2024 after Bezos pulled a planned endorsement of then-presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

Then, after meeting with Trump for dinner in February 2025, Bezos announced the paper's opinion section would only publish articles “in support and defense of two pillars: personal liberties and free markets." The opinion section historically leaned left.

Bezos emphasized that he "worked with all the presidents," including former Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden at every chance he could, and plans to continue to do so.

"I'm on the side of America," Bezos emphasized.

Bezos's comments come as Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang also praised Trump Thursday, telling @foxnews that "he's been very clear that he would like American companies to win around the world."
