DWI Officer is harrassed by random angry woman on lapel video

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. downtown - A woman is facing assault and battery charges after the Albuquerque Police Department says she threw a rock at an officer and interfered in an arrest.

On September 13th, 2019 an incident happened where an officer was investigating a man for DWI near Central and Broadway in downtown Albuquerque. Twenty-two-year-old Jasmine Romero approached the officer on foot and asked him why he was “messing with a Hispanic guy” (note the Officer was also hispanic).

The officer identified as Fred Duran asked her to leave, but as you will see, she refused to leave, and instead threw a softball-sized rock towards Officer Duran. The rock missed the Officer and instead hit his vehicle. Romero was ultimately arrested for throwing the rock and fighting arresting Officers.

While Officers were distracted with Romero, the man from the original DWI investigation sneakily drove off.

Romero was released from jail early the next day pending a future court date. Online court records show Romero has no criminal history in New Mexico before this incident.
