10 FASTEST WEST COAST MOTORCYCLES! TOP FUEL NITRO HARLEY vs TURBO HAYABUSA vs NITROUS GS DRAG BIKE

Fast motorcycle fans enjoy this action featuring the quickest West Coast Drag Bikes as they battle at NHRA’s Auto Club Dragway in Fontana, Calif. In this Western Pro Extreme Unlimited class you will see everything from a Top Fuel Nitro Harley, Nitro Funny Bike, Nitrous Suzuki GS, Turbo Suzuki HAYABUSA, Turbo Kawasaki KZ, Z-1, J Model and a whole lot more. Sit back and enjoy.

This series was created by Tony Ruggiero and his partner Charlie Postlethwait to give West Coast racers a place to compete. Due to participation not being as strong as it is on the East Coast, the unlimited category is a good catch-all that showcases some interesting racing between very diverse motorcycles.

First up it’s new rider Scott Oakley in his 134 c.i., high gear Nitro Funny Bike. Pro Mod Suzuki GS racer Dustin Janzen of Denver, Co. follows and puts one on the board for the four-cyclinder fans. Then we see legend and 8-time champion Steve Rice, who has been 6.59 at 219 mph, help work the gremlins out of the very unique Bill Hahn Sr. Funny Bike build that was started around 2002. The motorcycle is a lot like a Top Fuel Motorcycle with a Puma bottom end and Vortex head. It’s currently owned by John Morgan, who helps fund the sport in many ways.

Up next is Pete Steuri on a J-model Police Bike Kawasaki Steve Rice won the 1992 AMA Prostar Top Fuel championship on, against the likes of legend Elmer Trett and Larry McBride. Steve, former longtime Kawasaki employee would use parts the factory would throw away.

Steve Killingstad brings up his new age Turbo Suzuki HAYABUSA Funny Bike. It has a FuelTech system, a Koenig Chassis and a lot of work by Nigel Patrick of Patrick Racing.

Greg Justice shows us his new 151 c.1 inch, high gear nitro Funny Bike, with a 14 inch tire and 94 inch wheelbase.

Then it’s time for identical turbo Suzuki HAYABUSAs to battle as Vince Testa takes on Craig Brown, both EFI, Fuel Tech, 4 Speed Busas. Brown has been 6.79. Testa goes low with a 6.82.

That Brings up promoter and veteran Nitro Harley racer Tony Ruggiero and his 175 c.i. Overkill motor, O’Hara Chassis, CP-Carrillo Bike. Tony’s father Steve is a 43 year veteran of the sport, have competed with the defunct AHDRA, All Harley Drag Racing Association.

Last but not least it’s a true craftsman, Mark Chisholm and his self-built Turbo, Kawasaki KZ 1325 c.c. Machine.

We also give you a look at the drag bike crash of Mark Avila on his Kawasaki ZRX, alongside the Cycledrag - Trim-Tex - Brock’s Performance Suzuki.

One note for the East Coast racers, Steve Rice said times are a little slower out here due to the tracks not being as good. He said when his group travels back east, they are all on par with the group there.
