I was lucky enough to be able to see this version of Nightmare Alley in the theatre a few weeks before I saw the new Del Toro Nightmare Alley.

And, uh, this one is leagues better. I like Del Toro a lot, but I found his take on this story really missed the mark. Especially in comparison to Edmund Golding's vision.

Anyways, I am very happy with this trailer. What I really wanted to focus on was how I edited sound, which is not something I've usually put a great deal of focus on (except for my Citizen Kane trailer, I suppose).

And, again, I kinda ignored making a trailer that tells you what the movie is about. Should I do a better job at that? Maybe. I guess when I make these I like to focus more on capturing a theme than a summary. Maybe summary is the wrong word. A trailer could almost be considered a log line or a synopsis. When I've tried to do that I think I've failed. See my Lifeboat or Sabotage trailers, for example.

Is there a right way to do this? I don't know. As long as a trailer makes one interested in seeing the movie, I believe it is a successful trailer.
And I hope this makes you interested in the movie!
