The Stakes & Landscape of Independent Media in an Era of Heightened Repression with Sina Rahmani

This will be a special episode featuring Sina Rahmani from The East is a Podcast. This will be more of an informal and personal conversation on the brief history of anti-imperialist, socialist, communist, anarchist etc podcasting and our own involvement in it. We'll talk about some of the trends in technology, surveillance, and imperial core authoritarianism which represent a set of threats to political podcasting which is antagonistic to western imperialism.

We will also discuss the reality that while we each find our platforms and those of many others to be important, we have been seriously outflanked by the pig (mainstream) media and various well-resourced fascistic leaning nincompoops.

We'll also talk about lessons we've learned doing anti-imperialist media work and some inside baseball discussion on how we navigate the podcast game.

And of course, we'll discuss whether US Empire will finally seek to confront Iran militarily.
