Wade Young won this Aussie hard enduro event last year, and this year he's back to try again. Wade Young has the credentials just watch him tackling the rock garden in this hard enduro event, one of the hardest sections of the course.
Wade Young firmly placed himself on the extreme enduro map when he was the youngest ever winner of the Roof of Africa at only 16 years of age. Wade has been climbing his way to the top and this year was the youngest ever winner of Romaniacs and some are already tipping him to be this year's best extreme enduro rider. But first let's see Wade Young's prolog run in this hard enduro event. And then it's time for the main race. Early in the race Tim Coleman and Ruben Chadwick mix it up with Wade Young but as they enter the natural terrain part of the course Wade gradually establishes a good lead on his Sherco at this hard enduro event. Upcoming Aussie rider Wade Ibrahim eventually overtakes Tim Coleman and chases Wade for the lead but the Aussie riders can't catch the South African who eventually wins with several minutes to spare. A great race and we look forward to seeing how Wade Young goes in the World Enduro Super Series. And of course this extreme enduro event next year!

Chasing more info? Wade Young made history in 2012. He became the youngest ever winner of the Roof of Africa Enduro in Lesotho. Not only is he the youngest racer to take the title, he is also the first South African to win the three-day event since 2007. He also won this extreme enduro event in 2017. The manner in which Wade Young did it, beating the second-placed rider by a full 11 minutes and finishing ahead of former winners like Graham Jarvis and Chris Birch, proves he's a rider of class way beyond his years. 2012 was Wade Young's first full enduro season, and he proved those wins were no flukes with more success in 2013 and, by 2014, winning national titles at home and big races around the globe. As Wade Young has matured he's become even more of fierce competitor in hard enduro and legit podium threat in the toughest races out there like Wildwood Rock Extreme Enduro. In 2016 Wade signed up with factory ride with Sherco, a move which paid dividends quickly. Wade Young claimed his first major European extreme enduro winning Hell’s Gate in Italy, then podium finishes at Red Bull Romaniacs and Red Bull Megawatt 111, and another win in early 2017 at Porutgal's super-tough Extreme XL Lagares. With a long career still ahead of him, Wade Young is set to add many more wins... including this extreme enduro event.
