Kaushal Kishor v. State of Uttar Pradesh

The Constitution of India grants its citizens certain fundamental rights. One of these is Article 19(1)(a) which guarantees the right to freedom of speech and expression. This right allows citizens to think, speak, and share opinions and information freely. However, certain restrictions have to be imposed on this freedom so that such a speech does not become the cause of anarchy. Article 19(2) lays down the reasonable restrictions that can be imposed on the exercise of this right.
