With many small businesses low on funds during the pandemic, it’s never been more important to stay aware of the latest online scams to protect what you’ve worked so hard to build. Scammers have a few tricks up their sleeves to try to take advantage of vulnerable small business owners during COVID-19. From emails to phone calls from unknown people, some of the top business scams out there include attempting to phish for data, hack into devices, and steal funds through various methods. Kryistyna Hook with the Better Business Bureau reminds small business owners to take a stand to protect their business through several precautionary measures, including checking BBB.org to discover if any scams have been reported against the claimed business. As we approach the holiday season and continue to face the pandemic, small business owners must stay updated on current online scams and holiday scams to protect the longevity of their business.
