The Lexus LC500 market saw a stable price development during the last year, with exception of the high mileage coupe market. Prices in that market segment increased with 12%. This means that the increase is aligned with its competitors such as the Ferrari California, Porsche 911 Carrera, and Jaguar F-Type. In this depreciation and buying I will show you what happened in the LC500 market and whether or not the market indicates that this could be a future classic.

The Lexus LC500 is an alternative choice in an already niche market segment. Moreover, with a naturally aspirated V8, the car offers a unique proposition. Following this, many label it as a future classic. After all, we have seen before that naturally aspirated cars increase in values.

When we look at the LC500 market we can see that the cabriolets are a lot newer than the coupes and, consequently, are a lot more expensive. Interestingly, values hardly moved since last year with exception of the high mileage coupe market. That market segment saw an increase of 12%. A reason for this difference might be that the depreciation effect is weaker for these older cars. Compared to the competition such as Ferrari California, Porsche 911, and Jaguar F-type, the LC500 price increase ranks somewhere in the model. Therefore, based on the above, we can conclude that there are no signs yet that the LC500 will be a future classic.
