Canvas: 16x20 stretched primed canvas
Brushes: 1/2 inch flat bristle (large), #8 round synthetic (medium), #1 round synthetic (small)
Acrylic Paint: titanium white, mars black, burnt umber (brown), deep yellow, fire red
Other: white chalk, palette, cup of water for washing brushes, paper towel for drying brushes

STEPS:
1. 1/2 inch bristle brush - Paint background with black, brown and white
2. chalk – Draw outline of lantern and bird
3. #8 round brush – Paint base coat of lantern and bird with red and black
4. #1 round brush – Paint face, legs and feet with black, brown, red, yellow and white
5. #8 round brush – Paint details on lamp post with white, yellow, red, gray (made in step 1) and black
6. #8 round brush – Finish bird with red, brown, black, yellow and white
7. 1/2 inch bristle brush – Paint glass on lantern and snow with white, gray and brown
8. #1 round brush - Sign with black
