Yamaha VSTAR 1100 Throttle Cable - Repair / Replace / Maintenance

Today we will be dealing with several issues pertaining to throttle cables, ill point out that some procedures in this video are NOT STANDARD, you will see why. There are several surprises, the focus being a cable which has an end that snapped off at the carb mount.

The first issue is a bolt that is seized in the control cover, great care is taken to remove the screw without damaging any thing. Ultimately, the end was removed, turning it into a stud which was easier to work with to remove, and ultimately replace.

My intent was to remove the broken cable, lube the new and existing one and install the new cable. The inability after three tries to receive a proper sized cable caused me to fabricate a repair of the original cable from parts received from one of the new ones that the seller did not want back. I encourage people to use the correct part for the job.

No special tools were used for lubrication, just a small plastic bottle, table as a seal and gravity as demonstrated. I never had much luck with those tools.
After this, installation commences in the reverse order and adjustments are conducted. There should be no binding upon completion.
