Rip Off Britain - Legal & General - Destroyed Family Home - Episode10 Series 12

We agreed to tell our story on this episode of Rip off Britain to highlight our two and a half year battle with Legal & General. If you value your home and are insured by the group, you may find the programme informative, as it describes the manner in which we have been treated by one of the largest home insurance companies in the UK.

Thanks to the appalling manner in which Legal & General mismanaged our claim, our once loved family home has been reduced to a complete wreck. All of the damage shown on the programme has been caused by the insurers. The company took no decisive action for over a year and then decided to remove a large section of roof and leave it open to the elements for a further year.

As of today, the company have left our property in a completely derelict state, its condition gets worse with every passing day, however Legal & General still refuse to settle the costs of reinstating the damage that they have caused.

Thanks to Ideal Response Ltd for your contribution to the program, unfortunately the insurers have decided to ignore the health and safety advice that you correctly supplied and have since refused to pay for your service.

As a final note, the original damage to the property was due to a fallen chimney and confined to the exterior of the building, the internals were completely unaffected until Legal & General were involved.
