Glass shards special fx makeup tutorial

In this episode we create the illusion of our face being hit with glass shards.

Glass fragments and shrapnel has penetrated the skin and we're left with a face that's bruised and messed up. This tutorial is also one of the most easy ones to recreate at your home. You basically only need a clear plastic bottle, some skin adhesive and a little fake blood. Of course we use a little more makeup supplies than that, but in essence, that's all you need.

The trick to get the fake glass shards to stick to your face is to bend one end of the piece to create sort of a foot or plate. Use this surface to attache the fake glass shards to your skin using regular skin adhesive or liquid latex. We prep the little foot with some cotton to give it texture and a little more hold. After that is only a matter of covering the foot in foundation, red colour and some fake blood and you're good to go.

You can easily theme this look for different seasons of the year by exchanging the fake glass shards with something like Christmas ornaments, Halloween stuff like spiders or why not create a nature version with flowers, sticks and other things. You could even make a candy version with pieces of candy sticking out from all over your face. That would look pretty awesome!
