Inside our red blood cells you will find a protein with a quaternary structure called Haemoglobin, which loads and unloads #oxygen around the body. This video covers the loading, transport and unloading of oxygen in relation to the oxyhaemoglobin dissociation curve.
The change in shape of haemoglobin that happens when it binds to oxygen for the first time, makes the binding process of other oxygens easier. It's a cooperative process!
This video also speaks to the effects of carbon dioxide concentration on the dissociation of oxyhaemoglobin (the Bohr effect). By the end of this tutorial you will understand the Oxyhaemoglobin Dissociation Curve and The Bohr Shift!
