This mirror test can reveal your best sleep apnea hacks in just like a few seconds here.
This mirror test can reveal your best sleep apnea hacks in just like a few seconds here.
Go to our profile link or click the button on the screen to learn more about personalized breathing exercises.
This is actually one of the fastest ways to get clues about what may be contributing to your sleep apnea 👇
Go to a mirror.
Open your mouth.
Say “ahhh.”
Now look for that little dangly thing in the back of your throat… your uvula 😅
What you’re checking is your Mallampati score, which gives insight into how open or crowded your airway may be.
And no, it does NOT determine your value as a human being despite what internet shame culture may suggest 😂
Here’s the general idea:
1️⃣ Score 1–2
Your airway is relatively open.
Focus more on:
• Nasal breathing
• Slower breathing patterns
• Box breathing before bed 🫁
2️⃣ Score 3
Now we need more tongue work.
Try tongue suction:
Make a clicking sound, then slow it down until your tongue naturally rests suctioned to the roof of your mouth.
Hold it there.
3️⃣ Score 4
Now we’re bringing in palate exercises too.
The weird but effective one:
Make a “K” sound or the “NG” sound like the end of “singing.”
Yeah… it kind of sounds like a cat coughing up a hairball.
Do sets of about 30 reps in private where nobody can judge you.
And combine that with tongue elevation work too.
Little things done consistently can make a surprisingly big difference over time.
