Beat to quarters HMS Endymion vs Prueba and Proserpina

A 1/700 frigate action fought as a full shakedown of the updated Beat to Quarters mechanics and house rules (2025 edition), run on the free BTQ Companion app.
HMS Endymion, a British 24-pounder heavy frigate, against two Spanish frigates — the experimental heavy 24-pounder frigate Prueba and the 18-pounder Proserpina — the Spanish holding the weather gage.

This put much of the revised system through its paces: wind-gauge effects on the fall of shot, smoke obscuring targets at long range, gun fouling after sustained fire, hull shots carrying up into the rigging, surrender-point criticals taking out guns and officers, point-of-sail and tacking — including the risk of being caught in stays — crew shortages cutting into a ship's handling, and the reworked boarding sequence: musketry volleys, then a deck-by-deck fight with reserves. A close action, decided at the very end.

Models 1/700. I had Endymion; Marcus took the Spanish (ship data from period sources).

A closer look at the Endymion build is in a separate video on the channel.
