At 4h pm yesterday afternoon, numerous emergency agencies were deployed to a water rescue incident in the Credit River near the intersection of Derry Rd and Mavis Rd in Mississauga, Canada. Reports from the 911 central suggested that someone was in the water near a small railroad bridge north of Derry Rd at the Meadowvale Conservation Area. Mississauga Fire Dept along with Peel Paramedics, Peel Regional Police Marine Unit and Ontario Provincial Police Marine Unit jointed their effort to provide assistance as fast as possible upon arrival. Fire fighter inflated boats while witnesses and friends of the victims helped directing them. PRP uniform officers blocked all westbound lanes of Derry Road to allow the multiple emergency vehicles to park and operate. Paramedics donned protective suits and prepared stretchers while water rescue technicians embarked on the water. Drones were spotted flying over the scene in an attempt to locate the missing victim and fire fighters requested the use of a thermal camera in order to do the same. According to Constable Kyle Villers, spokesperson at the PRP, his colleagues provided relentless efforts to locate the missing person throughout the rest of the afternoon. Shortly after sunset, authorities declared that they had found the body of the missing person. Bystanders at the scene declared that a youth playing with other friends on a small bridge over the river, had dove in the water but failed to resurface.
