3 - 6 months use 4mm crochet hook
6 - 9 months use 4.5mm crochet hook
9 - 12 months use 5mm crochet hook

0 - 3 months - 3.5"
3 - 6 months - 4"
6 - 9 months - 4.5"
9 - 12 months - 5"

Abbreviations:
ch - chain
chs - chains
sl st - slip stitch
dc - double crochet
dc2tog - double crochet 2 together
st - stitch
sts - stitches

Written Pattern:
Round 1: Ch13, 2dc in 4th ch from hook. 1dc in next 8chs. Work 6dc in next ch. Working on the oppostie side, work 1dc in next 8sts. Work 3dc in next st, sl st in 3rd ch to join.

Round 2: Ch3, dc in same st as ch3 made. 2dc in next 2dc. 1dc in next 8dc. Work 2dc in next 6dc. 1dc in next 8dc. Work 2dc in next 3dc. sl st in 3rd ch to join.

Round 3: Ch3, working in back loops only, make 1dc in each st across. sl st in 3rd ch to join. (40dc)

Round 4: Ch3, 1dc in next 9dc. dc2tog 10times. 1dc in next 10dc. sl st in 3rd ch to join. (30dc)
