Ukraine Used Rockets With Butterfly Mines Against Russia, Will Kyiv Now Stop Using Banned Landmines?

A human rights group has urged Ukraine to stop using banned landmines in their fight against Russia. Human Rights Watch (HRW) said it had uncovered new evidence that Ukrainian forces had deployed the indiscriminate weapon. The international NGO has documented 11 civilian casualties, including one death, from “petal" or "butterfly" mines. The NGO stated that Russian forces have also used at least 13 types of antipersonnel mines across Ukraine since the start of its invasion in Feb 2022.
