The Golden Hole
On a recent trip out to the GPA’s north of Clermont, we discovered a “Golden Hole”. By the time I turned up, Dunc had already taken out 10-15 small pieces from an area no larger than a garden shed (3mx3m). Every time we discovered a piece, then rechecked the soil we shifted, discovered another, then another! The end result on that day, discovered 41 pieces of gold, with a total weight of 9.5 grams! We had a three hour trip home to undertake so whilst there was still light, handed our “Golden Hole” over to a group of nearby prospectors. Within five minutes, Dan from this group discovered his first ever piece of gold! Photos at end of video. Well done. The Willy Willy comes in at about the 10 minute mark.
